# About

The first version of the ACCESS-OM2 developer documentation is now available.

# Who is this for?

This is for anyone who wants to alter the source code of one of the components of ACCESS-OM2 (`mom5`, `cice5`, `libaccessom2`) and then recompile the model, and usually then test the model.

These instructions detail how to use the spack build system to build the model and then re-build the model after modifying the code of a component. This is the same system that is used to build the model in the automated deployment pipeline.

Note: this is an initial version of the documentation covering the simplest use case. More use cases will be added in future, and there is an [issue to discuss progress](https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/ACCESS-OM2/issues/58).
