# 2026-06-24

- New [25km 66-year IAF test cycle](https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/access-om3-configs/issues/1394) underway - nearly 40 years done so far
- [Test run of RYF version of the same 25km configuration](https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/access-om3-configs/issues/1423) also underway
- New OM3 25km beta release planned after these tests are completed
- [8km test config under development](https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/access-om3-configs/issues/1337)
  - running, but various [crashes](https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/access-om3-configs/issues/1446)

- Numerical mixing diagnostic [being added to MOM6](https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/MOM6/pull/57)
- OM3 optimisations to improve runtime efficiency
- MOM6-CICE6-WW3 100km OM3 configuration progressing towards alpha release (with KPP and ERA5 forcing)
- panan ice shelf dev branch almost ready
- Interested in other user experiences of using om3 (e.g. if others are encountering [these kinds of issues](https://github.com/ACCESS-NRI/access-om3-configs/issues/1368)
