Hi all.

I am working with colleagues at the UKMO who are trying to share code with me via a private repository on the MetOffice GitHub. The repo does not contain UM model code/configs but instead diagnostic code that can be used on UM model output. On their end they have given access to the MetOffice/momentum group. How do I get permissions on our end to gain access? Would this be managed by ACCESS-NRI (as is done for UM model configs) or is this handled differently?

The repository is [https://github.com/MetOffice/sgdiagnostic](https://github.com/MetOffice/sgdiagnostic)

Thanks in advance!

Hi @Michael_Barnes,

I can see that code when I log into the Met Office GitHub repo.

Have you applied for access to the Met Office GitHub private repositories?

> [@How to gain access to MetOffice's GitHub private repositories](https://forum.access-hive.org.au/t/how-to-gain-access-to-metoffices-github-private-repositories/6342):

> If you are developing an ACCESS model of the 3rd generation with the atmosphere or the land model (such as ACCESS-CM3, AM3, rAM3 or ESM3), you may need read or write access to the UM, JULES or GCOM source codes. These repositories are private for licensing reasons. To gain access to these private repositories, you need to request access to the MetOffice’s GitHub organisation. Pre-requisite Have a [GitHub account](https://github.com/signup?ref_cta=Sign+up&ref_loc=header+logged+out&ref_page=%2F&source=header-home) Have a MOSRS account: [instructions for ANU, UNSW, UTas (including AAD), Monash Un…](https://forum.access-hive.org.au/t/accessing-ukmo-licensed-models/6168)

Although reading those instructions, I don’t remember that I ever needed to do this step:

> Email [Scientific\_Partnerships@metoffice.gov.uk](mailto:Scientific_Partnerships@metoffice.gov.uk) with your request, specify which private repositories you need access to.

Maybe it’s because I registered way back prior to the Met Office making their official migration 🤔

Ah… Yes, I think I possibly missed this step! I will email them! Thanks @bethanwhite!
