Thanks for your suggestion, @andrewb1 could use it in the interim while we work on the u-dg768 suite.
I can make a generic fix (not tied to any specific resolution) and generate a report (perhaps in the job output) to highlight the problematic points and how they have been handled. The point being that scientists could then look over what has been done and contact us if they want a more bespoke solution.
I had an excellent talk with @csu (Chun Hsu) from the Bureau today to discuss ancillary generation. Chun Hsu said they had no issues generating ancillaries for any of the BARRA domains. But they used a non-standard ancillary suite.
The ancillary suite used to generate BARRA-R2 is u-ch954.
The ancillary suite used to generate BARRA-C2 is the same one @mlipson is using.
Chun Hsu has shared with me a 15-page Word document outlining all the work they did to get BARRA-R2 ancillaries working.
I have uploaded this document to
I think that this document, combined with u-ch954, combined with the current regional nesting suite, should give us better confidence going forward to generate hi-resolution nests in arbitrary domains without any ancillary problems.
Chun Hsu has kindly copied all of BARRA-R2’s ancillary data to /scratch/public/chs548/ancil_barra-r2/

Not that data in /scratch/public is deleted after 2 weeks, so grab a copy ASAP if you need it
