# Experiment proposal: ACCESS-CM2 SOFIA Tier 1 experiment

This is an experiment proposal for compute time in Q4 on lg87, as requested in the last ESM meeting.

**Experiment title** : ACCESS-CM2 SOFIA Tier 1

The SOFIA protocol describes a suite of Antarctic freshwater experiments ([Swart et al. 2023](https://gmd.copernicus.org/articles/16/7289/2023/)). This proposal is part of the tier 1 experiments, the output will be shared with the wider SOFIA community. I have already run some of the ensembles, this proposal is to finish one of the ensemble runs.

**Design** :  
Model: ACCESS-CM2 1deg  
Run plan: 80 years with perturbed Antarctic freshwater input  
Total kSU required: 80 yr x 5.8 kSU/yr = 464 kSU  
Time requested: 80 yr / 5.5 yr/d = 14.5 d  
Total storage requirement: will be stored on different project
