# Scale latent heating

Hi team,
I am planning to do a couple of sensitivity simulations to study the role of latent heating in an explosive cyclone, in which scale latent heating is scaled by a factor of 0.8 and 1.2 in a specific region. The idea and workflow would be in a similar way to Jake Keller in ticket 132151 on the UM wiki. This requires modification in a couple of places in the source code.
I was wondering if anyone has experience in modifying the rAM3 source code and recompiling it for model simulations. I would be very grateful for any advice on the most practical workflow, such as managing the code modifications, compilation, etc.

I have experience in modifying and compiling the ACCESS-rAM3 code.
Unfortunately I can’t log onto Gadi today to go over finer details but I will get back to you privately tomorrow.
