Agenda:

1. Admin: Volunteer for taking today’s meeting minutes to post here on the Forum.

2. ACCESS update from APS2 to APS3 led to drastic reduction in predicted cloud coverage in the Great Barrier Reef region by Luke Harrison (15+5mins)
   Updating the ACCESS model from APS2 to APS3 in ~2020 the cloud parametrisation also included an update from the ‘Smith’ scheme in ACCESS-R to ‘PC2’ in BARRA-R. This change led to a significant reduction in the amount of cloud predicted over the QLD/GBR region, primarily driven by a change in the amount of low cloud. A comparison between ACCESS APS2, APS3, BARRA reanalysis and Himawari satellite retrieval data will be shown.
