The CMIP Panel & IPO are starting to plan the next CMIP workshop which typically occurs a few years into every CMIP cycle. They have developed a survey to ascertain peoples interest in various locations or offers to host. Please have your say by filling out the survey before the deadline of 10 January.

- Where should we host the CMIP7 Community Workshop?
In each of the recent CMIP phases, a workshop has been held once data starts to be published. In March 2019, the CMIP6 Analysis Workshop was held in Barcelona, with the aim of updating and exchanging about the developments and progress of simulations and analysis in CMIP6.
Planning is getting underway in organising the CMIP7 Community Workshop, to be held sometime in March/April 2026. However, we need your help! We wish to gather information on location preference from the community, as well as offers to host the meeting and/or regional meeting hubs. To gather this information, we have created a very short poll.
The workshop is likely to include:
- Science sessions
- An ECR hackathon
- Policy, user, and funder engagement
- Public events
- Social and networking opportunities
