We invite you to register for the third online workshop on ice sheet ocean interactions, organized by the Joint IACS-IAPSO Commission on Ice-Ocean Interactions (JCIOI), 19- 23 October 2026.
Like our first workshop in 2022 and 2024, this will be entirely online, free to attend, and staggered over a range of time zones to support international participation.
The workshop aims to draw together researchers interested in ocean-driven melt of glaciers and ice sheets across a range of locations and timescales. The format will be a mixture of keynote presentations, short-format science presentations, and open discussion sessions with particular focus on four key themes:
- Understanding ice-ocean interaction from lab experiments
- Observing ice-ocean interaction
- Emerging techniques for ice-ocean interaction
- Glacial meltwater in the broader Earth system
