Payu user feedback

Thanks for the payu tutorial the other day @Qianhui_Chen and @Aidan ! It’s great to see all the new cool features you have included in payu.

I mentioned that it would be useful to add a prompt in the payu clone flow that lets users specify the archive path. It’s quite common for people to store experiments amongst multiple projects depending on where storage is available, and changing the default project every time is not really practical.

Just mentioning this because I think you were looking for user feedback. I know I can manually set up symbolic links and change the config.yaml after the experiment has cloned, but it is also not super practical.

That’s a great suggestion. I opened an issue in the payu repository and added it to my TODO list. Please feel free to comment on the issue if I missed anything.

I expect to include this improvement in the next release :slight_smile:

Thank you for your valuable feedback on payu! As a follow-up, we deployed payu/1.3.5 yesterday on Gadi. This new version added a prompt to confirm whether you would like to override the shortpath and change the project in interactive payu clone (see release post for details).
