We run into a problem with compiling the UM, see /home/599/dhb599/cylc-run/u-br313M/log/job/09500101T0000Z/fcm_make2_um/NN/job.err. The error says
…… [FAIL] Error: A license for Comp-FL is not available now (-15,570,115). ….. [FAIL] ifort: error #10052: could not checkout FLEXlm license …..
Does anyone have experience with this license issue? @MartinDix ?
Many thanks.

NCI utilises a license manager (FLEXlm) to ensure it is complying with licence conditions such as the number of “seats”. If your PBS job is requesting a license for the compiler and there isn’t one available then it will fail.
Try again and see if there is a license available, if not this is something you should contact NCI help about, as there may be someone who has done something wrong and taken too many licenses.
Someone bumped into the same issue recently and Dale mentioned that version 2021.1 or later of the intel compilers don’t need software licences. So that’s another option.
