We’re considering a couple of changes to the UM netCDF conversion used in ACCESS suites. Initially for ESM1.6 but likely also for CM2, AM3, CM3 etc later on. We’re looking for feedback. Feedback needed - vote below on proposed changes At the moment the netCDF conversion used by ESM1.5/6 creates variable names based on the stash code, e.g. fld_s00i024 for surface temperature rather than ts. Many of the variables saved do not have a matching CMIP variable name, so we originally thought this was less confusing than having a mixture of meaningful and default style names.
