Looking for data product about location of ocean fronts in the Southern Ocean

Hello everyone,

This is a general question about the existence of a data product and would appreciate any pointers.

A fellow ecologist is looking for data about the location of ocean fronts (she did not mention which fronts in particular) in the Southern Ocean to use in a species distribution model. Essentially, she needs to calculate the distance between a site where an animal has been reported to be present and the location of the closest front.

I have seen presentations before about detection of fronts from this group and thought you may be able to point her to code or preferably data products containing this information. Any information will be appreciated.

I’m not an expert on this but am aware that these two large-scale datasets are quite popular:

I’ve only used the second one myself.
