PyCon Australia, which is the national conference for the Python community, will be held in Melbourne this year. This overlaps with the ACCESS-NRI Community Workshop which runs from 8 to 12 September and is also held in Melbourne. One of the specialist tracks this year is Scientific Python which is for anyone using Python for scientific computing - be it anything from data analysis, engineering, academic research, statistics, modelling systems, or just generally hacking together new tools to extract insight.
If you are interested in being a speaker in the Scientific Python specialist track (or the main conference track), you can submit your proposal here:
Don’t worry if you aren’t an expert speaker, as PyCon welcomes those who haven’t spoken at a conference before!
If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with either @CharlesTurner or @jo-basevi as we are both helping organise the Scientific Python specialist track this year.
