Support CMORisation to Non-Native Target Grids?

In the CMIP context, CMORisation is often performed on the native model grid. For ocean variables, however, the tripolar grid introduces additional challenges for evaluation workflows, as it frequently requires a regridding step before the data can be analysed consistently. This can also create difficulties for tools such as ESMValTool and ILAMB/IOMB.

While ESMValTool already provides some regridding capabilities, I am wondering whether it would be useful to support this directly within ACCESS-MOPPy, for example, by allowing CMORised output to be generated directly on a non-native target grid through an integrated regridding workflow.

Do you think this could be useful? @RachelLaw @tiloz

Perhaps a question for the ESM1.6 stand-up next Tuesday as I think it needs input from those who routinely use the ocean data.

I think this would also make streaming data on a pretty map quite a lot easier.
