Two ILMF linked events

The ILMF has announced two events over the upcoming weeks.

First - on Thursday 16th July 00:30 AEST, Dr Jon Cranko Page is giving a virtual webinar on Using ML to identify conditions of underperformance in LSMs under the PLUMBER2 framework

Second - the 6th Annual Land Data Assimilation Community Virtual Workshop, is taking place Tuesday-Thursday, October 27–29, 2026, from 10:00 to 13:00 China Standard Time (CST) and 10:00 to 13:00 Eastern Daylight Time (EDT) each day.

At this time we have been invited to

  • Submit an abstract for an oral or poster presentation, and/or
  • Suggest topics or formats for sessions/discussions that would support community engagement and technical exchange.

While it does make me happy to see it described this way, to be clear the ML4LM series is a GEWEX thing rather than ILMF… I do wish they would join forces, but there are some strong personalities involved, at least for now.
