We will have our first land working group meeting of the year on 14th February, 1.30-2.30pm. Anyone interested in land surface research in Australia is welcome. Feel free to forward this to other interested researchers.
Although, the meetings are kept quite informal and anyone can open a topic for discussion as they like, please consider sharing topics of discussion beforehand on this post on the forum.

Hi,
If you couldn’t join the last meeting because of the requirement to log into Zoom, this has now been changed and accessing the meeting should now work for everyone.
The Land Modelling Working Group will meet twice a month on the first and third Tuesdays, 1:30 pm-2:30 pm. The next meeting will be on 7th March, 1:30 pm.
At this next meeting, it would be good to continue with everyone presenting what interests them and what they’d like to get from the land modelling working group. Also, please propose items of discussion for the agenda on this post on the forum. We’ll send the agenda on the Monday before the meeting.

Is this a recurring zoom meeting that we can use in all future meetings? If not, would be really useful to have the same link for every meeting so it’s easier to keep track of it.

Hi,
We now have a few volunteers to give some presentations at the working group meetings, starting this coming Tuesday with Gab Abromowitz talking about the results from PLUMBER2.
See here for a schedule of presentations. Please volunteer, the presentations do not have to be as polished as for a seminar. Discussions about work in progress are welcome. To volunteer, please reply here with a presentation’s topic and date.
The minutes from the last meeting are now on the forum.
The next meeting is Tuesday 2 May, 1.30pm - 2.30pm. As said previously, Gab will be presenting. I expect the discussion to centre around PLUMBER2 and model evaluation. Sean Bryan from ACCESS-NRI will be presenting the model evaluation tool we are developing for CABLE two weeks after that.

You are invited to register for the two-day Land Surface Modelling Community Working Group Workshop. The first day will be dedicated to presenting the community’s current research and discussing key topics of interest. The second day will be dedicated to training around CABLE, JULES and evaluation tools.
When: On Thursday 7 September, the workshop will run from 9.30 am - 5.30 pm (AEST). On Friday 8 September, the workshop will run from 9 am - 12.30 pm (AEST). Registrations are open until midnight 15 August, 2023 (AEST)

The Land Surface Modelling Working Group meeting scheduled for next week, Tuesday 5 September, is cancelled. This is due to the ACCESS-NRI 2023 Community Workshop happening on that day.
