ACCESS-AM3 N512 new ancillary test experiments

Experiment title :bell:: AM3 n512 new ancillaies test experiments

Summary :bell::

These experiments are designed to test the new ancillary files for ACCESS-AM3 at N512 resolution, including ESA SST and ESA vegetation ancillaries. The target simulation period is two years, from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2008.

Scientific motivation:

These experiments aim to assess the impact of updated high-resolution ancillary files on ACCESS-AM3 simulations at N512 resolution. In particular, we test the use of ESA-based vegetation ancillaries and updated SST boundary conditions to evaluate whether the new surface and ocean forcing fields lead to a more realistic representation of land–atmosphere and ocean–atmosphere interactions. The two-year test period from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2008 provides an initial evaluation of model stability, simulation behaviour, and potential improvements relative to the existing N512 configuration.

Experiment Name :bell:: ACCESS-AM3 N512 new ancillary test experiments
People :bell:: sl5165
Model: AM3
Configuration: AM3-n512
Initial conditions: reconfigured from an n96 AMIP run
Run plan: The target simulation period is from 1 January 2007 to 31 December 2008. We plan to run separate N512 test experiments using the updated ESA vegetation ancillary and the updated SST ancillary, with the option of a combined experiment if the individual tests are successful.
