Description

As part of the scientific development of ACCESS-ESM1.6, there have been improvements in the representation of Australian vegetation by replacing generic global tree types with Australian-specific functional types, better reflecting adaptations to the Australian environment. This has included remapping all vegetation in Australia. This publication aims to document these developments and evaluate the impact on Australia’s land surface processes (carbon, water, energy).

Keen to contribute If I am able to find some time. Quick question: Is there a simulation with the default generic global tree types using exactly the same ESM1.6 model code? Or is the idea to compare with the ESM1.5 ?

Hi @jatin, that’s great. We don’t have a run with the same ESM1.6 code… yet. It is in the works though and we should have some results soon. If you’re interested drop me an email (alex.norton@csiro.au) and we can discuss the experimental plan and results to-date.
