Updated configurations:

There was a new UM release 2012.12.000, with some optimisations, logging reduction, changes to CO2 flags and improvements to STASH prcocessing of CASA variables. No change to results.

dev-preindustrial+concentrations: Update to use new UM and CMIP7 ozone. Updated STASH to better meet data request. Uses year 2676 restarts from Nov25-NewNitrogen-Nov25

Jhan is running a new spinup with this. See end of ESM1.6 Spin-up experiments

The following configuratations have been updated to be consistent with dev-preindustrial+concentrations(e.g. same restart, forcing, STASH)

  • dev-4xCO2+concentrations
  • dev-historical+concentrations (still with CMIP6 GHG and ozone)
  • dev-preindustrial+emissions
  • dev-flat10
  • dev-1pctCO2-rad
  • dev-1pctCO2-bgc

Results:

Rachel reported that a 1% test run showed lower land CO2 uptake than ESM1.5 (which was already low compared to other CMIP6 models).

Still problems with netCDF conversion failures.

Forcing:

Paul now working on CO2 emissions.

No update yet on the discontinuity between PI and historical ozone
