Title

Interannual variability of primary production by algae in Antarctic sea ice during the satellite era

About

Observations of primary production by algae in Antarctic sea ice are discontinuous, sparse,
and under-described. Our study uses a high-resolution ice-ocean-biogeochemistry model (ACCESS-OM2) forced with a reanalysis product (JRA55-do; 1979–2023) and evaluated with a satellite-based light penetration index during 1988–2016 to study the impact of Antarctic sea ice extremes on the algal primary production.
