  1. Open call for new WIP co-chair

The demands on this global data infrastructure are growing with a wider and more diverse range of users, rapidly advancing data technologies, and increasing numbers of climate data portals and platforms. The WCRP ESMO Infrastructure Panel (WIP) is seeking a new co-chair to provide oversight and coordination of community efforts to address these challenges. The co-chair will provide leadership in coordinating and delivering the infrastructure for CMIP7, and other data publishing WCRP projects, and work with the WIP members, other WCRP activities and wider user community to develop a vision for beyond CMIP7.

  1. Open call for members of new Climate-REF Panel

The ESMO Scientific Steering Group is seeking applications from enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join the Climate-Rapid Evaluation Framework (Climate-REF www.climate-ref.org ) Panel. There are two co-chair positions and up to 13 panel member positions. The Climate-REF is a community owned evaluation framework, built upon, and compatible with, existing community evaluation packages that incorporates an application programming interface (API) for executing metrics generated from community evaluation packages, across the globe. The REF Panel is being established to govern the REF, ensuring it remains scalable, scientifically relevant, and technically sustainable within resource constraints. This includes coordinating international research efforts on issues relating to REF development, access, and use.
