ESM Working Group Meeting

1. Admin

  • Science presentations: Consider contacting the co-chairs or @spencerwong if you have any work you would like to present this year. Please consider presenting, even work in progress that you’d like some feedback on.
  • Add any items you want this WG to discuss to ideas for topics

2. Shared experiments/ACCESS-NRI resources

  • ESM project lg87 has used 836 KSU of its 875 KSU allocation for this quarter. /g/data storage is 55.2TB
  • There may be unused resources from other working groups if there is demand for more.
  • Any more proposals for shared experiments for next quarter? See guidelines for how to do this.

3. Working Group day at the 2025 ACCESS Community Workshop

  • Community working group meetings at the ACCESS Community Workshop will run on Friday 12 September. We’ll hold a brief discussion on the plan for the ESM working group meeting.

4. um2nc single variable file feedback

  • ACCESS NRI is planning to add support for outputting separate files for each variable to um2nc. We will briefly discuss the changes and gather feedback on file naming schemes.

5. ACCESS NRI FY 2025/2026 draft work plan

  • The ACCESS NRI FY 2025/2026 draft work plan is available to read here, outlining the major areas of work planned for the next year.
  • We’d love to hear your feedback on the draft plan.

6. Science presentation

  • Dietmar Dommenget will present on How to train your dragon: ENSO tuning for Coupled Model Development with the MPI ICON-XPP model.
