Update on ESM WG meetings for 2025-2026
The schedule for the ESM Working Group meetings will be changing following discussions and preparation for the CM3 Dev-Eval Working group meetings. Working group meetings will alternate fortnightly between the current meeting format (science presentations, resource updates, and general working group discussions) and the CM3 Dev-Eval meetings (focused on analysis and development of ACCESS-CM3).
To facilitate NRI staff attendance, the meeting day and time for both types of meeting will be changing. Following the poll of community members, we identified Tuesdays at 10:30 am as the most suitable time. Due to already scheduled presentations, there will be a transition period for the rest of the year. In particular:
- There will be no meeting this week.
- The first CM3 dev-eval meeting will be on next Tuesday on the 11th November at 10:30 am.
- A regular ESM WG meeting will be held with a science presentation on Thursday 20th November at 1pm.
- The second CM3 dev-eval meeting will be on Tuesday 9th December at 10:30 am. This will be the last meeting for the year.
When meetings return in 2026 (likely in February), they’ll pick up the fortnightly Tuesday schedule.
Prior to each meeting, a reminder post will be added to this thread.
For the first CM3 dev-eval meeting (background), we welcome contributions from everyone. Please feel free to share a Figure or agenda item in this “wiki” post. We’ve already got contributions from @ctychung @ezhilsabareesh8 @ongqingyee @kieranricardo @Harun_Rashid! We ask these people, if possible, to come along and tell us about their analysis.
