An experiment suggestion from Matt this morning: a (say) 20-year ACCESS-OM2-01 run without SSS restoring under ice, i.e. set salt_restore_under_ice=false. (In fact this means SSS restoring is disabled when frazil is present - it doesn’t actually use sea ice concentration from the sea ice model.)
